Hi, I'm Michael!

Fishing!

If you watched the video about me on this page, you know I love to fish. Do you like to fish? If you do, send me a message at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it about the type of fish you fish for and what you use to catch them!

There’re lots of different kinds of fishing here in Costa Rica. Of course there’s deep-sea fishing for the big stuff, like tuna. Some grown ups come here to sport fish, and they are looking to catch rooster fish or swordfish or marlin. I prefer to catch fish you can eat, I guess maybe because I can catch them myself. The really big ones I need help bringing in.

The Ocean

The ocean is a beautiful place. Many people like to swim in the ocean, play on the beach, surf, boogie and many other things. My favorite thing to do is boogie boarding. I go out as far as the surfers and catch a wave. It’s so much fun! You can go really fast, but still sort of stay in control.  Our dogs LOVE to go to the beach and swim with us in the ocean!
The ocean may be fun but it can also be dangerous. You have to be careful when you go swimming because you can be taken out to sea by a current, which can be dangerous!!!!!!!! That happened to me once and it was scary.

Another thing people like to do is snorkeling and that’s a special sight to see. The ocean has many beautiful reefs. The ocean is always active.

To me the ocean is like another world. There are so many creatures that you’d think are aliens. Even though there are many scary creatures in the ocean it also can be peaceful.

There may be some creatures that live in the ocean that you don’t like but it’s God’s creation and we have to respect it.

I saw this article today about the endangered "Mexican Walking Fish."  These creatures are SO CUTE! Check these guys out and let's try to save them!

My Thoughts On the Environment

I love playing in water!  Here I am with some friends playing in the river near our house.  People need clean water to bathe in, drink and wash things like their clothes.

I think nature is in great danger. For some of us who are kids now, when we grow up and our kids grow up there won't be that much water. The more we pollute our world, the more fresh water is going to cost, the more good food is going to cost, the more healthy stuff is going to cost. The more it has to cost, the more we have to work and the more we have to work the more tired, stressed, tense and angry we'll be and we'll always be focused on work. Now you don't want to live like an ant, always working! When stuff costs too much you won't be able to buy accessories for your children, like toys or games, or you won't be able to spend time with them.

If we start conserving water, recycling garbage, stop polluting the earth and start cleaning it up, we might be able to save our earth by the 30th Century.

People who are thinking about what it will really be like in the 25th century are taking action now. They're making air-powered generators for houses, they have a car that you throw trash into and it makes it into fuel for the car, they have a motorcycle that runs on polluted water and they're trying to figure out how to fit an air generator into a car to make an air powered car.  Here's a photo of an air powered car.  I'd LOVE to drive this thing!

Learning to Play Soccer

When I learned how to play soccer I was very little.  I got interested in soccer because my big brother Ryan was playing it.  When I saw him play, I had an idea that it might be fun.  So I played with my dad and brother one day.  I liked it so much I decided to play soccer.
